Should Sarah Palin be invited to speak at the RNC?

Of course. She ought to have a prime time speech as well, if for no other reason than her skill at firing up a crowd with the red meat. she is like Pat Buchanan, Newt Gingrich, and even Rudy Giuliani in some regards at her ability to still be a crowd pleaser while the same crowd would be averse to electing them to any real power for various reasons.

That said, I am not as defensive about Sarah Palin as I used to be, so if she gets snubbed, oh well. Her foot ragging over whether to jump into the 2012 race was unfair to her supporters, many of whom spent every day since the day after the 2008 election prepping for her potential run. I do not begrudge Palin for opting for media cash instead, she needs to embrace the costs of her decision in terms of grass roots support and her own credibility.

The bottom line is Palin I still like Palin, and I like to see her fire up a crowd. But if she does not get a chance to do so at the convention, so be it. She seems interested in taking the Donald Trump road to media success while hoping to maintain political credibility. Allowing Trump to speak at the convention would turn it into a farce. Palin has not degenerated to that point yet, but I cannot begrudge any of the party poobahs for nipping her in the bud before she reaches that point.

Secret Service Agent in Colombian Scandal Once Posted Creepy Photos of Sarah Palin

Secret Service Agent David Randall Chaney retired yesterday amid allegations he was involved with the hooker scandal in Colombia last week. This is not the first time Chaney has engaged in questionable behavior. In 2009, he posted the above photo and others online with a caption ’I was really checking her out, if you know what I mean?” Chaney had been assigned to Palin’s Secret service detail during the 2008 election.

I have already begun to see a new internet meme captioning the above photo floating about.

Why didn't Palin endorse Newt if she voted for him in her home state?

She is probably thinking about her future. To remain a pundit of what little value she has as one, she cannot endorse a definite loser even if he matches up with her politics. If she has fantasy of plotting a floor nomination in the unlikely event of a brokered convention, she does not want to be forced to explain away an endorsement to a rival. Either way, palin is more interested in her own future than Newt Gingrich's.

Do you think Sarah Palin is setting herself as a potential nominee if there is a brokered convention, or do you think she just wants a prominent role at the convention so she can attempt to have her own Reagan 76 moment?

the only place either of those scenarios exists is in her mind. Sarah Palin is irrelevant to politics. the establishment never liked her. she has most likely burned all her bridges with supporters over her foot dragging about a 2012 bid in the first place. Quite frankly, i would be surprised if Palin has a prominent role at the convention period, much less a chance at a floor nomination or widely watched speech that will make Republicans regret nominating The Other Guy instead of her.
